from long neck to........

#1 Post by clinton miller » Thu Nov 26, 2009 7:36 am

.......arrow point.
i finished my 1st ever primitive point yesterday. it's made from the bottom of a long neck beer bottle. it turned out to be 2" long, 1 3/8" wide and 5/16" thick. it weighs 192grs. starting to get the hang of setting up platforms to be able to push off nice big flakes past the centerline, which you need to do in order to thin it down while still ending up with enough width. it will be special to shoot something with it that's for sure! or should i keep it?? :|

Keep it, keep it, for it's your first. There's nothing like still having your first to compare with as time goes by. Bloody hell if looks could kill (in this case it probably would) it looks truely great. A job well done.............Bill

I say use it and shoot something with it. Much more memorable IMO if it's is your first point, and you kill something with it. If it just sits there, then how do you know if it works or not?

tony,
should we put a wager on how many fingers clint will have left after trying to knap while having a few beers, a couple of wines and a bottle bundy?

Well-done, Clint! If I was to try that, it'd have to be with ginger beer bottles. :D

It's the forests where silence has lease;
It's the beauty that thrills me with wonder,
It's the stillness that fills me with peace.

otis is right....you haven't been knapping if you aren't bleeding!
