It's been a long time......

#1 Post by woody » Fri Sep 11, 2009 9:34 pm

Back in 2007, the subject of producing a glue on style Outback broadhead was being discussed. I think I said it would be soon........

Here it is in 2009, and the man who makes my aluminium ferrules, and my finances have finally come together.

As I type this, I have a 140 grain single bevel and a 145grain double bevel, glue on Outback Supreme sitting in front of the keyboard, looking at me.

I spent most of the day at my ferrule makers machine shop, as he finished the machining program design, tweaking it until we were both happy with it.

Tomorrow he is starting the first production run of 2000 ferrules, which should be ready to pick up mid week at the latest.

I hope to be releasing them for sale, some time the week after next, as I have to finish a few small alterations to my assembly press's to allow the new model to also work in my current tools.

I would certainly be looking for glue on types.

Yes Woody, it does seem like a long long time since the Shooting Star days.

To avoid confusion with the screw in models, I think I should give these a name of their own.

I am currently thinking that the "Outback Tradition " would work ok, as a descriptive name that is suggestive of its intended use.

I will try and post some pictures tomorrow. :D

Coach,
not a problem, would you like me to bank some of your money for you................

Guys,
If you dont mind, could you give me an email ( private home email, not a forum pm ) around the end of next week.

They should be ready for sale about then.

It would also be a good idea to have a read of the ordering details page of my web site first.

This will answer most questions and help with a smooth transaction. Thank you for your interest
good hunting,
Woody.

Coach,
I haven't got the bill for the ferrules yet, so I dont actually know my costs involved, but I will know by the end of next week when I actually have some assembled ready for sale.

I am hoping the Outback Tradition model will be about $ 4.50, the same as the other standard 2 blade models, but dont know for sure.

If the ferrules are roughly around $ 2.00 each ( my cost ) it will be ok.
