#1 Post by hillbilly WA » Wed Jan 07, 2009 10:56 pm

Hi Guys
I'm looking for a sharpener to sharpen broadheads and knives. What would you guys reccomend? Are there any that are generally regarded as working very well and being not too hard to use?
Thanks, Carl
I did have a signature... It was a very good one in fact... It made me laugh... But i lost it... So i dont have one anymore.

Carl

I've got one of this handly little sharpeners ...

While it won't give you an edge that's as good as you can achieve with a good wet stone and a strop, it's not bad. It's particularly handy for touching up your broadheads in the field after they've becomed dulled. It's extremely easy to use. I use mine all the time, as I can't stand the thought of hitting even a rabbit with a dull broadhead. With this little tool, I'm always ready with a good sharp broadhead if I see a fox too.

There is no use focusing on aiming if you don't execute the shot well enough to hit what your are aiming at.

I used to use a Lansky.
But a mate showed me about the Spyderco Tri-Angle Sharpmaker Knife Sharpening Set 204 I find it impressive. But with a lot of things these days check where you buy them (prices range from $95 - $155  )

I use my grinder to sharpen knives I have made, but for my folders now it is the Spyderco.

There's this device- http://www.kmesharp.com/broadhead_detail2.html, and there's also this method- http://www.bowhuntingaustralia.com/shar ... heads.html . Hope that helps.
