Utility Knife

#1 Post by metalhead » Sat Sep 10, 2022 5:39 pm

I have just finished making this knife . It is full tang and the design is based off a Leuku. I made it from a 5mm circular sawblade and heat treated to 59-60rc. After a bit of experimenting I reckon I've nailed the heat treat for a good balance of edge retention and toughness. The blade has been flat ground with a convex edge and the handle is Turpentine. It doesn't have a high level of collector knife finish because it's meant to be used. I would sell this knife for $65 if anyone were interested
I've added a link of a similar one I gave to a mate. He is not a knife guy just likes camping. https://youtu.be/ppVPkIPLIsQ

I like the finish on the blade of that one. I think you better find yourself a saw for cutting that wood up though.
