Was cleaning up the shed the other day and found an broken in half hydraulic hacksaw blade, what on earth did I keep that for I wondered. So through it in the bin. Then that night it dawned on me and had me up in the morning digging through the bin to find it.
Have always wanted to make a small wood widdler so got the grinder out and cut it up. Turned a piece of conkerberry for a handle and she was done.
Guess next time I go camping I got something to do around the camp fire, will just have to remember the band-aids if Im on the rum I think.

Is the edge bevel single or double?


I've seen small knives made in Japan for the same purpose and they usually have a single bevel for some reason - I assume it helps in controling the cut direction.

Bstan a double mate, did think about a single just for the reason you explained, but probably wont do to much stick sharpening or flat work with it.
