elephant skinner

#1 Post by gazza » Thu Nov 20, 2014 6:51 pm

picked up a butchers knife at the local markets awhile back, thought I could make something of it ,a mate from work gave me a set of red deer antlers all I needed was the time to make my new knife .its only a quicky, the blade is 8 inches ,my version of a bowie but once I make a sheath it should be ok .gazza

Looks good Gary, did you use Leather Dye or Boot Polish on the Antler ? You'll have to make a Dangle Type Sheath Gary, I've never used a more ergonomic Design

I made this sheath on the weekend nothing went quite right leather wouldn't stamp didn't like to take the dye I hadn't done lacing for a while so I did a bit of unpicking at the start but its only for me so if its a bit rough doesn't matter. the cutting board its on is 400 mm long to give some perspective ,cheers gazza.

Don't sell yourself short there Gazza. That's not a bad job and I'm sure most blokes would be more than happy to have a knife and sheath like that in their possession.

Well done,
Ranger
