Hopefully a bit of history
Latched onto this fine old (no stampings) Bowie which was ID'd by those who know as German origin made for the South American market It has very finely done Pommel and guard work. (nickel silver). The scarbbard is not original to the knife and is said to be of central American origin but is tailor made to a perfect fit. Date range was given as 1890 1900??.German made they were evidently popular in Cuba/Puerto Rico and some ended up in the US as spanish american war booty. Length is 440 blade is 325. Handle wrap is fine brass wire. Some battle marks on blade edge so I wonder who this sent to the happy hunting ground. If only the darn thing could talk.

truely Cool, yes, if it could only talk; it will make for a very nice display and forever talking point.

Now that is a knife! Great to get genuine old pieces of whatever one collects.

Thats a very interesting Knife and Sheath hardgainer. Fascinating that the Knife has "Battle Scars". Could you post closer photo's of the Knife Handle and of the Sheath front and back thanks. You have given me an idea for an upcoming project
