Stone Cold Knives....Finished pics 2nd Knife finished...
I have made a few knives over the last few years as some may know and almost from the beginning I wanted to put stone on the handles. It was going to have it's challenges sure but wanted to give it a go anyway.I have just finished the first proto type and love the results here's a couple of phone pics I will put some better ones up when it cools down enough to get outside.

Re: Stone Cold Knives....
Thanks guys sorry not to get back to you sooner. The handle scales are granit from a kitchen bench top and I cut and shaped with the trusty 4inch angle grinder. The finer polishing I do with a air grinder with some special pads I sourced from china.I had some concerns about this material like the weight and how brittle it might be so drilled out a lot of the steel behind the handle scales and left the blade thicker to keep the balance more like a normal knife.Overall I am very happy with the knife and also used a new material in the pouch getting some emu skin leather and just love the affect I got with that on the sheath.I dropped the knife when almost finished and it did not break so it may be stronger than I thought. Here area couple of pics of the sheath.

So some wanted to see a kitchen knife so here you go..
I am looking at mabey doing some to go with the stone bench tops the guy makes that I get the granite from.I really like working with granite this one uses hidden pins so I dont need to drill right through making it easier.
Cheers KIM
