Coffin Handle Bowie

#1 Post by littlejohn » Fri Mar 23, 2012 7:33 pm

Hi fellas...

Been working slowly on this for a while now....

Coffin style bowie design(blank)

Blade: 7 1/2 " 440 stainless
Handle: 4 " plus brass gaurd/bolster...Zebrawood....offcut from a bow I made under tuition when I visited a mate in the States
Sheath: Belly leather, antique dyed with basket weave stamps on the main body....small basket weave on the horisontal midline and a border stamp around the stitch line....

I am certainly no expert but I enjoy mucking around with all facets of 'The Outdoors'

The blanks are a good way for beginners such as me to have a go and get a relatively good looking knife at the end of the project.
Regards...pete,...

I nearly bought that same Bowie Blank off EBay myself Pete. Looks great. Solid effort on the Sheath Mate. If you PM me your address I will post you down a copy of Sheath making DVD or 2 that will be very helpfull. wish I had of watched it years back - very informative.
