Legally Stoned

#1 Post by hardgainer » Tue Jul 12, 2011 2:51 pm

I really admire the carving and scrimshaw style of Robert Roberts combined with the great work of Ron Saunders who is a Master Cherokee knapper. As Jacko said on a previous post the scrimshaw style is great and sure requires real skills
A couple of additions to the collection have been well received.
The carved eagle is a lace obsidian @ 11 3/4" with a Elk antler handle.
The end cap is Hawian Koa with a ebony spacer.

The other is a Elk handle with a Box Elder burl end cap. The blade is Burns Green Banded obsidian overall 10 3/8". Green dye has been used on the antler.
Not carved but I recon he still gets a good effect.

Agree,d guys some of these knappers sure are talented wether they are FOG or use antler/stone billets they are clever. Added a couple of extre pics of a carved knife "wind in his hair" moose antler carved by Niel Fehr knapped by Kenny Hull using Pink Lady obsidian.
Also a knife by Tony Stanfield in Black obsidian and Black Tail antler handle with a great ribbon line through the blade.

The work that went into them! Incredible!
Lately, if life were treating me any better, I'd be suspicious of it's motives!
