Any wood recommendations?

#1 Post by slvrslngr » Sun Jan 09, 2011 10:29 pm

Hey gents,
I've got a folding Kershaw that has some ugly plastic scales on it and was wondering if anyone had some recommendations on wood to replace them. It will be my first knife project so I'll need something that is easily available so I can make some mistakes! Thanks in advance.

Plenty of good Burl timbers over your way. Get on ebay and type in knife scales and you should get some nice cheap options. Steve

Have a look here Bud- http://www.knivesaustralia.com.au/akc-homepage.html they are over your way and Keith Spencer is a very friendly chap who will go out of his way to help you out. :)
Lately, if life were treating me any better, I'd be suspicious of it's motives!
