My Little Skinner
I thought I should put somethig on here that I am making as others show there skills. I am just a beginer, my 3rd go at making a knife.
I used an old file from work, annieled it, cut it out with a hacksaw, drilled pin holes and filed it to the shape.
My next step was to make a jig to grinde it evan so I made a clamp and a long bit of rode with a ball bearing welded to the bottom as a pivit. The pivit sits in a socket head screw ( allen key bolt) which is in a bracket screwed to my work bench staight under the grinding wheel. This gave it an even hollow grind. The knife is still got a bit of work to do to it, more polishing and a horn handle so more to come yet.
Here it is so far. woodie

Man, mind and a well thought out idea has created a very good looking grind on that blade.
A another job done well. It's going to be a great looking creation when it is completed. Best of luck...........Bill

Hi everyone here is an update on the knife. I have started to make the scales this afternoon, they are from some red stag horn. Unforturnatly I did not get the stag that they came off. A little more work to do to them and a little bit more polishing on the blade.

Re: My Little Skinner
Well here it is just waiting for some cutler's pins to get here, and a final sharpen but other than that she is finished.
The next step is a sheath and then to use it on something. What shap will I make next?
