How to people ship knives around? Can you still use Aussie Post or does it have to be a courier?

Cheers,

Aussie post is fine.

Knives are not considered to be dangerous goods (like fireworks, flammable liquids, radioactive isotopes, poisons, etc...) therefore there is no restriction on sending them in the post. Similarly there is no licensing requirement providing that they are of not the type (daggers, knuckle duster knives) that are considered prohibited weapons.

When you sign the declaration on the post pack to indicate the dangerous goods status of the product, you can do so with a clear conscience.

+1 on what Steve outlined. Do make sure they are well packaged and that no 'pointy bits' could stick through however.

Your decleration won't mean much when your in court with a bad mannered postie nursing a hand!!!!
