More about retirement from Irish Pat

Got a joke too good to keep to yourself? This is where to put it. While all the other Campfires are expected to be reasonably 'serious' in nature, this is where we let our hair down.

More about retirement from Irish Pat

#1 Post by robmoore » Fri Apr 09, 2010 9:04 pm

Pat reckons he's often asked what retired people do to occupy their time.

He says "The other day, I went to the shopping centre. I was only in there for about 15 minutes and when I came out, there was a policeman writing out a parking ticket. I went right up to him and said “How about giving a senior citizen a break?” He just ignored me and continued writing. I made some comments about his parentage. He then glared at me, examined the tyres and proceeded to write out another ticket for worn tyres. When I suggested that he would have made an ideal candidate for the Gestapo, he proceeded to examine the windscreen, the wipers and lights and found more minor defects. He began writing more tickets.
Just then my bus arrived so I climbed aboard and went home. I don’t drive my car to the shops these days. It is more convenient to take the bus. This provides more opportunities to meet other people and engage them in conversation..."
