The old irrigation farmer...

Got a joke too good to keep to yourself? This is where to put it. While all the other Campfires are expected to be reasonably 'serious' in nature, this is where we let our hair down.

The old irrigation farmer...

#1 Post by robmoore » Mon Nov 15, 2010 2:13 pm

A Department of Water Resources representative stops at a riverland farm and talks with an old farmer. He tells the farmer, I need to inspect your farm for your water allocation.
The old farmer says, "Okay, but don't go in that paddock over there". The government rep says, "Mate, I have the authority of the Government with me. See this card? This card means I am allowed to go WHEREVER I WISH on any agricultural land. No questions asked or answered. Have I made myself clear? Do you understand?"
The old farmer nods politely and goes about his work.
Later, the old farmer hears loud screams and spies the Water Rep running for his life and close behind is the farmer's bull. The bull is gaining with every step. The Rep is clearly terrified, so the old farmer immediately throws down his tools, runs to the fence and yells at the top of his lungs...
"Your card! Your card! Show him your card!"

Cheers
Bob

Amen! :D
It's the great, big, broad land 'way up yonder,
It's the forests where silence has lease;
It's the beauty that thrills me with wonder,
It's the stillness that fills me with peace.

Boys, this is a pointless exchange!
Lately, if life were treating me any better, I'd be suspicious of it's motives!
