Erron- what's this all about?

Tried to tie in a graphic from my machine for an avatar and received this message...

Okay, couple of things to clear up first:

1) The maximum file size is currently set to be 6144 bytes. How big is your file?

2) Max. dimensions are 80 pixels high and 80 wide. Is yours within this?

I've set the board to accept remote avatars. If you're a bit oversize, I can reset that.

Also, I'm assuming you have it stored on a publicly accessible server?

Let me know, we'll fix it somehow.

Erron,

The file was less than 5000 bytes and about 80X50 pix. My problem might have been that I was trying to upload it from my personal machine- not a public server. It was just a gif file, not a fancy running, jumping, singing av.

So much for me trying to be whizzy.

Sorry to take so long getting back to you, Tuffcity, been laid low with bronchitis for the last few days.

Yeah, you have to upload from a publicly accessible machine. But I can allow you to upload it to my Ozbow.net account, or you can email it to me and I'll do it for you. Give me a day or 2 to get the details.

Actually, you can upload it yourself if you go to your profile settings; you just need to know the path where it's stored.

Thanks on that. I've been on vacation since the 8th, just now have popped back into town to do laundry and grub up, then back to the boonies until about the 23rd. Will try again when I get home.
