Front Page Photo - Clout

#1 Post by GrahameA » Sun Feb 04, 2007 7:16 am

Good Morning Everyone

Well I think the new front page photo is the first time we have had something from a FITA club.

Generally people think of FITA Clubs as all 'high-tech' with bows made the latest materials, etc., etc.

Not necessarily so, the bow Clive is shooting is an ELB made from American Ash and those arrows have fully bound handcut fletches and self nocks.. Not quite what you expected.

Clout is long range archery with the target laid out on the ground - I will put something together on it today.
Grahame.

At our local Christmas shoot we placed a bull shaped pinata on the clout centre and had a couple of ends. A 30lb Turbow of brigalow shooting self nocked POC's could *just* make the 130m to the target zone. The most accurate on the day was a 40 or 50lb limbed Huntsman.

Its fantastic watching the arrows just fly out all that distance.
