Re: An old trick for rust
Good call perry I had no idea about the tomcat thing, a great handy gem. I have also used white vinegar with some iron nails left in for a week or so to wipe over timber and bring the grain out before sealing, makes the grain jump out.

Re: POLL - Trad 'Eligibility'.
You blokes are just missing the point and continuing a zealous crusade to evolve the current trad shoots into something else. Moving the benchmark for each flavour periodically will eventually end up just another open shoot. Root cause of your angst you want a new group to be eligible, either )$&...

Re: POLL - Trad 'Eligibility'.
I think you hit the nail on the head there longbowinfected it is a niche that fits well now. It's not a one size fits all, that's what club shoots and open tournaments are for. The shoots are put on as is for this niche and most also do other shoots catering for other niches as well. We have the fre...

Re: POLL - Trad 'Eligibility'.
I don't see a tuning issue I see whinging; and a group that needs to get off their bums and either go to an open tournament or a 3DAAA tournament. The line is defined for those shoots and they are called trad shoots not bitsa shoots. Instead of making nieve statements about yokels who haven't shot a...

I keep saying it and the brigade just keep nagging; just start your own open shoot. If your not prepared to move said bum and sort it, why would anyone else fix what isn't broken.

Re: POLL - Trad 'Eligibility'.
Advantage??????? Fair dinkum, how many go to a trad shoot to win? That for me sums it up, a whole debate and bend to your wants and whims for a notch. Fun, fun and if ya hit rubber it's all good. Lets just ditch the scores and do a biggest clown wins, I suspect the debate would die in the @&$ at...

Re: POLL - Trad 'Eligibility'.
The bows the arrow materials debate keeps going round and round, there really is no debate as per the shoot flyer or no, like greybeard mentioned a stick off the ground treated right becomes a selfbow. No one would complain if someone wanted to hold an open tourney maybe a no wheels open slather typ...

I've had 4 longbows from the US posted by USPS and haven't had the said problem, and cheapest was $36 most expensive $43 There are a fair few people using services such as that mentioned above, reckon it may be the go.

Re: cock feather cock ups?
Slinky it's coz your using those imperfect carbon thingy's mate, if you pick up the right spined stick off the ground and bung some feathers on it, it doesn't really care where your cock feather is, obviously the grain alignment and spine do matter and usually line up the cock feather the same each ...
