Re: Practice session made a difference :D
Hey Tracey, Just on the issue with the tab and glove, i have shot both over the years and it really is personal which you use, that being said i prefer the tab as i think it gives me a cleaner release. I would recommend you practice a little with out glove or tab for your speed shooting as i shot at...

Re: Cub/Junior arrows for trad shoots ?
I don't think you would find anyone checking feather length on a kids arrows at a trad event, my kids use 9 inches as it's just about right for them. I reckon if anyone was that picky at a trad shoot they might get a bow cracked over there head :) As far as i am concerned we need to promote kids in ...

Re: Orange Trad Peg at QLD ABA State Titles
Well the state titles are over and there was only about 10 or 12 of us shooting the trad peg, I have mixed feelings about shooting of that peg as some of the shots where great and some were far too simple. That being said the orange peg placements could have been made more challenging with some more...

Re: Orange Trad Peg at QLD ABA State Titles
I nominated for the state titles this weekend and will be shooting wood arrows from the orange, I will let you know if at the end of weekend I feel dumbed down at all. The only reason i am shooting this weekend is practice for Barambah The distances being much the same i can work on form and focus.

Re: bow making costs.
I have been getting all my timber from the USA, the shipping is a bit harsh but the service is much better than i have received in Aus and the sizes here are just mad they can't seem to help you if you want something bigger than a pen blank or small turning blank. I had one guy nearly choke over the...

Re: Wallace Woods
Hey Steve and Sue
Can you guys do up a test pack of say six bare shafts stepping up in 5# increments, I am trying to build some woods for my 80# recurve. If i can get the right ones i will get 2 or 3 dozen bare shafts of you and it will give me something to work on.

Re: Bows that qualify for trad shoots and restrictions
Sometimes they throw in a primitive division too. They nearly all say no carbons , wood only and min of 12 inches of feathers. The trad comps are so relaxed about gear that there is usually a couple of shooters with modern ilf style bows and who cares so long as they shoot woods like every one else....

Re: Bows for sale
Yes there is no problem with that I have been shooting it around the comps in Qld for a couple of years now as other members on here can vouch for, some of them may remember me shooting it. I know nutgrass and lbrod have seen it and greybeard asked about it at caboolture when i was shooting the hawk...
