Re: Quiver conundrum

I also have a G Fred quiver and like it for bunny bashing but for my main hunts I like a bow quivers on all the bows I have owned. Tried back, side and most others but cant go past the practicability and functionality of the bow quiver.

Re: Gamemaster II / Hoyt Vector Combo

My apologies mate. I took the big smiley as a bit of tongue in cheek. Yes the riser is rather interesting looking. It was just one of those risers that I always just had to have. I don't know why but it just was. I really like shooting off the shelf but a rest and vanes are more practical for my Sam...

LOL I note a slight hint of sarcasm there Jeff. Personally for me and all the bows I have personally owned or shot They do provide the best all round performance.

Re: Gamemaster II / Hoyt Vector Combo

The bow is not to my taste mate but that is one excellent photo of the flower. Jeff LOL, I thought I would hear that from a few. It certainly does not hold the same appeal as wood but for pure functionality and shootability (if there is such a word) it is certainly up there. There is very few wood ...

Gamemaster II / Hoyt Vector Combo

Just retro fitted a set of short Hoyt Vector limbs to my recently arrived Gamemaster II. Was a very simply thing to pop out the ILF bushings and replace with the original Gamemaster II hardware. Took all of about 10 minutes. I liked the stock limbs but new I liked the Vectors for their smoothness an...

Re: Info on Bowyers in Australia for high calibre hybrids

If you cant find what you want here another to look at will be Border Bows. I know my Border recurve will achieve what you want. Mine gets close at 52# with a 26.5" draw, so at 28" you are good to go. Their Longbows are equally as fast.

Re: help with rest please

Ah ha, now I see how far cut past center that bow is you will certainly want one of the adjustable rests like the NAP center rest or go with the adjustable side plate like Dodger posted. With out one you will struggle to get good tune.

Re: finally got 1st usable recurve!! WOOOHOOO

So it's pretty much not shooting trad lol just a compound with out wheels lol Its as much trad as anything else mate. Remember the likes of Fred Bear etc etc all shot off rests at different times. Shooting of a rest is the same as shooting off a shelf with a radius on it. Both are designed to hold ...

That's why I bareshaft with the bow in the position I hunt with i.e canted. No point setting up arrows one way i.e vertical bow if you have no intention shooting it that way.

Re: Flu flus and arrow spine

I haven't noticed any difference on the ones I have with either 4 or 6 feathers. For Pheasants I would go with 4 Flu Flu feathers. 6 is great for mucking around but really pulls the arrow up quick. Maybe too quick for birds.
