Re: 'The Winged Longbow!'
Nice bow!. My longbows have only .004 taper and they work very well . Can't imagine using .008! Saw your inlay work on that USA site , looks great.

Re: Snake skin sheds
Rod it is my understanding erroneous or otherwise that possession of snake skin whether form road kill or more devious means is prohibited and can incur a hefty fine. 3 Rivers sell a cloth snake skin printed strip in rattler and copperhead. No where near as good a real thing but still looks good if done right.

Re: Snakeskin backed bow..Import to Oz?
I had a rattle snake skin backed osage bow sent from USA about 5- 6 years ago no worries but can't remember if it was declared as such by sender.I know it's illegal to own a skin here in Australia even if from 'road kill'

thanks Perry. What is 'funny' is Americans love our timbers but so many here want to use their timbers, when ours are every bit as good in most cases.PS loved our yarn at Baramabah.

Really don't know how people such as your good self,do adapt to shooting opposite hand, know a couple of others who have that skill and but sadly it is not something I can adapt to. Envious.

Couple shots here of stave as is, put in back in steamer as it has a very ornery want to run out on limb alignment.

Seeing Col's terrific effort with his gnarly stave prompted me to return to the second stave I was working on.Currently at 60# @ 28''. Had to return it to form as it has a persistent run out on each limb which hopefully will be removed with my heat gun.Have to leave it clamped up for couple days.Sti...

should be a real head turner when you get it done Col. Just love osage myself, like the way it handles steam, like working it and like its great properties as a bow. Looking forward to end result!
