Thanks Gaz I think it is a tusker I didnt care to much about
weight and that sought of thing as this arrow was given away
as a gift and wont be used.(I did shoot it some though and it
shot great out of the selfbow)

Thanks erron it turned out good for my first go. It is about sixty I think but have not weighed it so am not sure but with arrows spined for 60# to 70# they fly great if I can pull it to full draw.The pic has a full length arrow in it so that would be about 32 inches.This means I am drawing about 29...

Mate I am pretty new to the self nock thing but in the bow building bible
he says that you dont need to bind them.I have posted a pic of my trad

First shot.
I shot the spotted gum flat bow today and I am rapt. It doesn't have the handle and I was using the tillering string but it looked so good on the tiller board I just had to. Yeh Jeff it will make it faster but the spotted gum has a few weird turns in the grain in places and can pick up very fast if not very careful.I have not worked in timber before much so there is so much to learn as I go along.Thanks for the support and I will get some photos with a mates dig camera ...

Hi guys this is my first post but I have been dropping in for a while and love the site.I am almost finished my first self bow and it is made out of a spotted gum floor board.I did this on advice from glenn newell and although I havent shot it yet it seems to draw nice.This comment comes from somone...
