Re: The Flatline RAPTOR intro

Oh wow,
Rob - you've done it again. I love the timbers you source, they look beautiful.
Sure you don't want to make a hybrid longbow/semi recurve? I think you would make a ripper.
Top job again,

Here's a few from the past year out 'n' about. Fox having a snooze, tried the whistle after the pic and he trotted away. Must have used it backwards  Sleeping Fox.JPG Here's a pic of a 45" billy. Let him walk that day to spread his genes, but he went for a walk over the fence and ende...

Re: Big Jims Thunderchild

Cheers fellas, Jeff - the tiger myrtle is a veneer, and the lams look like bamboo. I'm sure he uses bamboo in 99% of his builds (unless requested otherwise), but didn't ask him what was in this particular bow. He's away hunting at the moment, so i'll find out for you when he gets back. Stickshooter ...

Re: Big Jims Thunderchild

Cheers fellas, Brigsy, hang in there mate. My 5 monts went to 6 months and eventually ten months. Didn't bother me as I knew what I was getting and it is more than a bow, its an heirloom and a work of art. I must say though that there is nothing about that bow that even remotely suggests its a longb...

Big Jims Thunderchild

Well after a long wait, my first custom bow has arrived safe and sound. Settled on a 2 pce Thunderchild from the big fella. Specs are 58" length and 58@30". Riser is walnut and tiger myrtle limbs with horn limb tips. You hear it said often about Big Jim's bows that "pictures don't do ...

Re: Getting a bit excited

Cheers Fellas, Yes it has been a long wait, but on the home stretch now. Have gone with Walnut riser and Tiger Myrtle limbs. It will be 58" and #58 @ 30". I like the lines of the bow, and if you look at his slideshow, there are some incredible looking bows on it. Don't worry, there will be...

Re: Zimbabwe - Baboons

Budza, great write up, thanks for the trip down memory lane. There are probably half a dozen animals in Africa that really tickle my fancy, and the Baboon is one i'd like to take. It's a shame you can't import the skulls into Australia, as I think they would make a great looking trophy, certainly so...

Cheers Fellas, dmm, one pays too much for trailcams in Australia. Do you research online, I suggest chasingame.com for trailcam reviews, then research prices. I settled on the Wildgame innovations x6c camera, and got them delivered to my door from the states for about $140 each. Piggy, that is a gre...

Sambar trailcam pics

Went out to put up some trail cams on a Sambar scrape on the weekend. Not really a hunt but the only chance I had to get out so the longbow came for a bushwalk in case I came across a blind retarded deer. After setting up the cameras on a couple of scrapes about 20m apart, went for a bit of a wander...

I've got a Big Jim's Thunderchild on order at the moment. I also like the look of JK traditions "Kanati" and the centaurs look nice too. I would like to take one of Glenn Newells Defiants for a spin too. Here's a pic of a thunderchild with a timber combo pretty close to what i've ordered. ...

Went for a fallow scout last weekend. Plenty of feed and not as many deer as usual, the bigger bucks haven't yet come to the does. A few young bucks, but that was it. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v667/memo48/deer/Goat_March11005.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v667/memo48/deer/Goat_March1...

Hey Nomad,
I live in Wagga and have a couple of longbows and recurves, and make my own arrows.
If you'd like to come over one day and shoot my bows and ask some questions, I could help you out with making arrows, and also have some trad dvd's i could lend to you.
Drop me a pm if you're keen.
