Re: Have book will travel!!!

Hi everyone, I asked Jeff if I can send one of my books out into the world for others to read and enjoy. It's not a classic written by a ledgend of the game, but it is still an interesting read. It's titled "Longbow. A social and military history" written by Robert Hardy. Basically it foll...

Re: Arrow Making Challenge

well, here's about as fancy an arrow as i can make considering i have no fletching gear with me at the moment... All I had was one nock i taxed off an old arrow. The feather I found in the bottom of my bow case. The only tools I had at my disposal were a pair sewing scissors, a stanley knife, a tube...

Re: ABA TRAD Rules

Glenn, Some of the reasons you have mentioned (over competitive shooters, complaining about ranges etc.) is why I rarely shoot 3Daaa anymore. But above all else......... I don't like these shoots where you only go and shoot one arrow at each target. A shoot should be just that a place where you go t...

Morning Gundy ... although I could have my hands full as one club has a large FITA compound group! It is only a matter of showing them the light. I note, with significant interest, the growth of people shooting Longbows and Barebow amongst the local FITA population. In my own club we have now 6 Arc...

This story doesn't seem to have been 'picked up' by the Melbourne newspapers as yet. Hopefully it won't be. But posting this type of crap all over the net wont help either  It amazes me that when ever there is some sort of news like this , people cant wait to spread it even further over sites...

Re: Arrow challenge, Jaydens arrows

Jeff, Its certainly going to be hard to go back to making carbon arrows now, after these ones look so good made up, the only problem with the wood arrows is that they arent as durable as the carbons Jayden Try a timber like forro's ash shafts instead of cedar and you might think otherwise Jaydo.

interesting....
I have, in the past, used a hair drier on my arrows when the weather has been colder to prevent runs in paint or varnish.
Hi temp/ speed/ (whatever it is on a drier) for a minute or two whilst turning in my fingers before hanging vertically did the trick nicely.

Re: just can't get tuning right

Jeff and Matt are obviously naturally good archers that have done so many hours it is all instinctive, they know themselves, their equipment and the rest becomes second nature. Probably give them any bit of bent stick, a bit of straight stick and some string and they would feed the family - me, wel...

They don’t hit nock right or left at close range; they fly straight no matter the distance. is that with or without the spectacles pappy rastus? :P :D Jape, I echo allot of what is being said re arrows matching each other and practice. The arrows that shoot most consistantly for me out of al...

I saw this bow first hand today and it is indeed an interesting bit of gear..... cannot say how it shoots as i was having anough trouble getting arrows to hit a target from a bow that I'm supposed to already be familiar with!
