if that pic has been altered, it by using a technique i'm not aware of.
The shadow lines and cast appear to be accurate. Can you tell me what way they think its been altered?

rory, It sounds to me like the scale has trouble reading ultra light weights. Less than 200 grains is very light compared to 500 grams.
