Re: Acacia Lane Archery
I think its great to see another archery business in Australia and opportunity for people have a go . Also joining a club is just not practical for many archers so if such operations are run well it can only be a positive . Matt ... we should go out there and check it out and give them some patronag...

Re: I want to take up traditional archery
Sam Fadala's book is a great one
T.j Conrads book on traditional archery and bowhunting is pretty good too but it is geared towards hunting rather than 'Trad' as such but the tuning , bow and arrow selection is pretty darn good

Zaeasp , having "played " with mounted archery before I think the shallow handles with no or limited shelf are an asset to nockinG an arrow .... nowhere near as easy with the Hoyts and Bears IMHO as the differencce between a shallow shlefed Hill style bow and the centreshot of the recurve ...

Re: How long do you hold at full draw?
despite my ongoing battle with target panic ... I'll offer in my 2 cents ..... I tend to shoot pretty quickly and wish i didn't . I think that many of us 'quicker' shooters have trouble shooting slower , or even briefly holding at full draw on an arrow that we are going to shoot are affected by vary...

Congrats on the new bow .. as for forgiving ... I am with Jeff on this one and a search of prev threads will show my opinion is in line with his ... But I'd also add that I have read previously that the thinner longbow limb experiences less oscillation at release than the wider thinner recurve limb,...

Re: How many people use a ghille/leaf suit when hunting ?
it sure does look good handy gear though eh ... as I don't really go for camo , those big plaids in wool would make for some great Sambar hunter duds come Autumn ! I must say that I think they are still just a Husband and wife operation and travel a fair bit to shoots / hunts etc which may account f...

Jeff and I share fashion values ... In fact given we are both lefties with a penchant for plaid we might be related . Ghillies will work ... no doubt , but they just aren't part of my "hunting" ... much like tree stands or multi blade broadheads . They all work a treat but it just ain't ho...

Re: How many people use a ghille/leaf suit when hunting ?
I have used them a couple of times ... once for photo's and a few other times to see what the fuss is about . Note I only stalk , no tree stands or blinds ..... Any movement will be picked up by an animal , regardless of clothing . But if you are genuinely slow and careful the Ghillie is the ducks n...

Re: Fletching length
Is it 68" or 70" long ... it maybe pretty twitchy given your draw length . Still sounds like a tuning issue to me rather than anything that can be saved by feather length . Mind you , if you are getting good accurate ane repeatable results with 7" fletching then perhaps just have at i...
