Evening Erron Excuse my posting in the wrong place. It is reasonable to suggest that the question was poorly worded. (And that is putting mildy.) My suggestion would be to read, "Use Enough Gun" by Robert Ruark. I have difficulties with any argument that blames the tool rather than the too...

Cameron and SDM Got it in one. Short sword blades in my case. I started with a coil spring out of a Roll-a-Door. That was many, many years ago and it was worked into an excellent knife. And I learnt a few things about how not to do things. A friend of mines father annealed it for me using a oxy at h...

Hi Cameron They are big saw blades. My problems have been with smaller stuff in comparison. Cutting car springs was a real issue at one stage. These days I buy the spring steel in bar form - a sign of being slightly more affluent. And the next time I am getting it laser profiled before it ev...

Hi Cameron I know that problem. Try this: Build a coke fire and bury the blade in the middle and an air supply at the base. Get it all going and nice and hot. Then turn it off. I have used that method both for chunks of old railway lines (small anvil material), car springs and springs out of old rol...

Cameron

Have you tried annealing? the saw blades first? Heat them and then let them cool slowly - then re-temper them when you are finished.

Good Afternoon Cameron The Archer on the show was Hector Cole. And if there was anyone of the show who knew what they were talking about it would be he. (refer my earlier link) He said that shooting an arrow was an easy thing to do... Is that why Edward (I think it was) forbade all sports other than...

Have you considered a Coleman? I did have a Rossco for a while and was very happy with it. However I never felt stable in it when fishing. As luck would have it I managed to purchase a Coleman Scanoe. Big Canoe with a squared off stern. It is not as easy to paddle as the Rossco was but I normally us...

First of all a, "Hello". After reading the forum for some time I finally decided to join. :D Mick (and others) Most of Cliff's bows are "replicas" of Medieval Longbows. Although a little lower in poundage. (They do have a 'D' section, are not flatbows and are single piece selfbow...
