Our Own AUSSIE Traditional Fletch???

I've heard some good things of the vario and I wll pick one up early in the new year. The range of feather shapes is very impressive as well. Which got me thinking. I like the idea that you can send them a design and they will create an insert for you. I have a design, which I will put here ...

Is there an Ombudsman for the postal service??? Its funny that this post is here as I was only saying the same thing to someone just recently that when someone said to you years ago that something didn't arrive by mail it was usually a crock, now I hear these stories all the time. I have a few of my...

Gidday All, Just confirmed with Keith the arrival of my shafts and thought I should pass on some updates to the VA Shaft situation. :D Keith has taken delivery of 3000 more shafts, that are looking for new homes and targets. Secondly, it looks (95%) like the continued supply of these shafts is secur...

Cheers Perry, glad to see that you had a good time at the shoot. Seems nearly universial appreciation for your efforts. Pity you didn't get to shoot. I should have my shafts sometime this week so I will be making some up. Have to pick up some paint and try out the arrow dippers I made. I'll have to ...

Cheers mate, I'm pretty flexible for time, although I have a few things to get done on the weekend. Tidying up the garage and creating a workspace etc . I was thinking saturday morning and hanging around until 1. But flexible like I said. Have you seen, used or heard comments about the roller type a...

Yes, I really wanted to get to the shoot on the week-end. Saturday got away from us completely and Luisa was not well on the Sunday. I very much wanted to check out the equipment that was being used on the day as well as have a good chinwag, and look at the crafts etc. I will be heading down to Gran...

Mate, thats a ripper. I usually flip between building my own stuff and purchasing. So while I intend to purchase Keith Forresters most excellent taper machine, I am looking for the motor/foot pedal combo so I can make up a cresting jig. I'm wondering if a Bi-directional motor controller could be ins...

I'd have to say that I fall somewhere between the 1st and 2nd category. I'm usually making new arrows to suit a new bow/draw weight so there is a level of eagerness interfering with quality control. When that pressure is not on, I make the extra time to do a very neat job. I would love to have a go ...

Thanks for the good info mate. I am going to start experimenting a bit more with the front of centre stuff. The arrows you were shooting were getting exceptional flight and speed. As for the clear glass, I couldn't agree more. The bows are just beautiful. Actually the first time I ever wanted to own...

Mr bsrecurve, I am assuming it was you that I met at Grange Bowmen this week-end past. If it is then I must say I was taken by both of your toys. In particular the Centaur bow. Went to their website and had a good long look. Pity I had to give the local TAFE $1000 this morning for skills renewal etc...

Thanks for the feed back fellas. Hope to get some more. Seems like lots of options out there that are home grown and overseas (especially with the strength of pacific peso against the $US) I still think the Mahaska is one of the most beautiful designs, as well as The Khan (?) that used to be for sal...

Yes, a LE Howard Hill longbow would be very nice. Or any HHLB for that matter. Red Wing Hunter, yes a mate of mine had one of these beauties many, many years ago. It was beautiful to shoot. Thats where I also fell in love with short recurves. ( but yet to own one ) Saving for Kodiak Mag or Supermag ...

I'm going to buy a new longbow after xmas. Thanks all, more choices than I thought. I was worried about the finish being able to flex with the bow.

The bow was originally high gloss but a satin would look nice I reckon.

As for ELB. Yep should have guessed. I knew it was "something' longbow.

Sure, I've got a Black Widow recurve that has be only unstrung to replace the string. Once in about 10 years. Still shoots the same as new. I used to always unstring my bows until I heard from people I knew and respected, and practiced what they preached. I admit that at first it did not come easy. ...

Recommend clear lacquer for bow finish ???

Good day all. I want to sand down, very slightly my Damon Howatt Hunter recurve that was camo'ed many years ago. And at 30 years old I would love to see it like it was brand new. It is still in very good nick and is still shoots as beautifully now as when I first bought it. I'm going to try to prese...

BOW STRING LENGTH

GIDDAY COACH.

BEEN OUT OF THE GAME FOR A WHILE, SO WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO GIVE YOU STRING MEASUREMENT ? THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE STRING
INCLUDING THE LOOPS I'M ASSUMING.

GOT 3 RECURVES AND 2 LONGBOWS AND NONE USE THE SAME LENGTH STRING. GUNNA SELL MOST OF THEM. I THINK.

CHEERS MATE.

Dennis, I think you have raised many valid points concerning the crossbow. Much of the discussion seemed to miss a great deal of those points.
