Re: Bow & Machine Hunting
Longclaw, I can understand why one would appreciate Coach's version, not only for the human side of giving sympathy for the ravings of a delusional man, but often fiction is more interesting than fact. As for me suffering heat exhaustion and therefore talking to goats, why wouldn't I?, after...

Bow & Machine Hunting
Went for a goat hunt yesterday with mate, I took my Widow recurve and my mate took this funny look'n thing... :? at first I thought he was going to ride it? I think he said it was a "Confound" bow, I can see the reason for the name, it confounded me, and it beats me why anyone would carry ...

That's very interesting matey... the string jumping I mean.... what were you shooting?... I've NEVER seen it myself. Read about it heaps but have NEVER struck it myself. My arrows are noisy... untrimmed feathers sound like a raven or crow shooting through... if I miss the animals normally look arou...

Re: Pig Attacks , A Question for the Regular Pig Hunters Here .
Some of these stories are scaring me ,, dont know about this pig hunting  Matey, between this and string slap on ya wrists I was going to suggest knitting or crocheting might be a better/safer option, but there may be a chance of "wool tangle" or worse still dropping a stitch if you...

Re: Single bevel
Depending which side of my linisher I stand on at the time is what dictates which way my single bevel ends up...one thing I have noticed is that either way the end result is the same for the unfortunate critter that gets "bevelled" IMHO, one's ability / limitations, knowing your equipment,...

Re: "Widow" Wandering
Good work mate, what kind of arrows do you have on that rig? POC shafts, (some joined or extended with brass tube to bring length back after being broken) 5" feathers, Aztec heads...noth'n fancy, in fact some are pretty rough, but spine and weight matched and flight tested before taken for a h...

Re: Tusker Broadheads
Yep I agree with most of the comments...IMHO ALL arrows should be "spin" tested , and having used Tusker from when they were Davies I can say that I have had the occasional "rough" one, but none that I couldn't make fly and many that have hit rocks and still taken multiple game, ...

Blame the Border Billy!
Although not one of my favourite shots, a front on shot at 18m with 70# of bow and 700grns of arrow tipped with a Tusker Aztec left none of the arrow visible and destroyed this bloke's heart and lung etc etc and brought him to an abrupt and permanent halt...more pet food :) http://i4.photobucket.com...

New Friend
Over the last few weeks I have been receiving a visitor (Grey Shrike- Thrush) and slowly but surely she has become very trusting of me, if I'm outside she comes to me if I'm inside she whistles until I appear, it's no big deal but to me it's a real pleasure and privilege to have this trust. She love...

"The Boys" - "Bent-Straight" & "Woolly Bill"
Went for a look about for some dog meat when I blundered into "The Boys", they weren't too keen to spend a few moments with me, I moved on Twenty minutes or so later I spotted another mob of goats about half a km away on the side of a steep slope, having closed the distance to around 150m,...

Foolish Fallow Fails to Flee Forthwith & Fox Fatally Felled
Fallow & Fox The young fallow was hanging around a creek under some trees, I’m sure he saw me and although I was well within what one would have to assume would be his comfort zone, and certainly within bow shot, he didn’t bolt. I thought he may have been sick so I gave him a â€...
