Re: Split fingers to 3 Under
Actually, I wonder if part of the tillering process effect, when changing draw point on the string, are often more related to the dynamics of how the bow now reacts also to the change of bow hand pressure upon the grip, some bows being more sensitive to it than others. As you lower the draw point of...

Re: What Do You Prefer, Dead Or Dynamic Release?
Lol, you can, because I'm not really sure either. It was more something that I had heard bandied around the traps. I tend to feel that it is an overrated topic, back tension this and back tension that - forcing things to happen. I see a dead release having certain advantages, and I can't see an expl...

Re: Split fingers to 3 Under
Like some one suggested, you may or may not have to re-tiller your bow, if it was set up as split finger. Not in all cases. I generally found that 3 fingers under required a slightly lower nocking point, but maybe that was just me. I had a reflex/deflex longow that would only shoot well 3 fingers un...

Re: Instinctive shooting - an instinctive shooter's perspect
The old debate about instinctive shooting always makes me smile, and not was intended for this post. Instinctive, is like someone suggested, a poor use of the word, but it applicable to someone who uses it in so much, that for me instinctive means, at least, the I do not use a specific aiming refere...

Re: To cant, or not to cant
Canting the bow is more so for longbows were the arrow sits 1/8" outside centre shot and instinctive shooters. Another reason for canting the bow for some is to get there eye directly over the arrow. Recurve and modern longbows shooters with large cut out windows and centreshot risers dont have...

Re: What Do You Prefer, Dead Or Dynamic Release?
A dead release indicates a lack of back tension. But back tension is poorly understood for the most part anyway. Simply squeezing your shoulder blades together does not produce back tension, and having to force anything like that is likely to hurt yourself. Back tension will develop with good shooti...

Re: Draw length question
Draw length can be a tricky thing in so much that there is AMO draw length (to the back of the bow ie the face of the bow that is furthest away from you), and True Draw length, which is that to the 'pivot point' of the bow ie that which is directly perpendicular above your palm. AMO length can vary ...
