Re: Traditional Archery Australia Selfbow Workshop's

Good onya mate. Maybe the boys and I can pop in Saturday arvo or Sunday morning time willing. Unfortunately no able to make the full workshop. Maybe next time. I think arrow making and string making are assumed and under appreciated skills. I can honestly say that I have never made an arrow worth ad...

Re: Bob Dorring

Sad to hear this news - a definite character and pioneer of the Australian Archery scene. Certainly gave me many a giggle, eye roll and face palm moments over the years. I had not thought of him for a few years now but have to admit that I will miss the opportunity to see him again. I remember him s...

Re: Archery Fact / Fiction Books - your Recommendations

I've been a huge Cornwall fan for years now. I'm surprised no-one has mentioned The Winter King books - the author himself has said these are his best works, and he's not wrong. The Winter King, then Enemy of God, then Excalibur. I would've read them a few times now, they're superb. Yes Perry I hav...

Re: Martin Viper, DALAA limbs, Hoyt Buffalo, Toelke Whip T/D

Hey Pete. I once went from a 55lb recurve to a 70lb recurve with very little effort. however I was shooting a lot of arrows at the time. the length of the viper limbs 64 inch may help in perceived draw force as well. that what have found anyway. let me know if you want to take a gander. cheers Troy

Re: Glenn St Charles back quiver?

Hey Matt, That is a great idea about the bristles. I have always been a little weary of these quivers and relying on gravity and friction to hold your arrows in place but the bristle idea certainly adds another level of security to the design and very likely could only add to the quietness. An inter...

Hi Mick. Agree with almost everything said here. I am very fortunate that I have an eye for most bows and very little offends me (so yes I love compounds and metal risered recurves) The rig you have chosen looks spectacular and even better it will shoot spectacularly. I think you will find the long ...

That is hilarious Mick.

I have done the very same thing. Not with quivers but with books .... has happened more than once.

Luckily most of my mates are readers with similar tastes so they usually get parked on the shelf for birthday presents.
