Spine jig (almost) finished

Hey folks I was gonna wait until it was totally finished, but it's a rainy Friday night at home and I'm in the mood for uploading pictures  I built this spine jig out of timber left over from my brother's caravan remodelling. Supports are 26" apart, weight is spot on 2lb. The needle is...

Re: New Bow!!

Powerflight 340's... I need them at least 30.5", and want to use them for hunting and 3d so i ordered heavier field points (125, 145 and 175gr).
The shafts are coming uncut so I can muck around and see what works.

Re: New Bow!!

Nope.

My other bow is 28# oly style ILF... Arras are .750 spine with 70g points. Only 6.2 gpi, too.

I do have some bamboo stakes from bunnings that I've straightened and spined... Maybe some duplex nail points and duct tape fletches? Nothin but class, lol.

New Bow!!

New bow arrived today!! It's a Greatree Highlander Deluxe 64" AMO, 45#@28. The service from Andover Archery was great, emails were answered promptly, brace height and nocking points were set and rug rest and plate installed. It also looks like they've put a thin layer of felt on each end of the...

Reminds me of song lyrics from that magnificent Aussie band, T.I.S.M.

The rich kid becomes a junkie
The poor kid, an advertiser
What a tragic waste of potential
(being a junkie's not so good, either)

A bow hunter gets some airtime on ABC Radio Sydney

Once more the topic of hunting in National Parks is high on the agenda following a 7.30 report last night into alleged activities of Game Council members as well as news of a local rally against hunting in National Parks being planned for next month. This morning, bow hunter Gary Mallard takes exce...

Re: Buying a Samick recurve - advice

Thanks mate, I was a little worried about it stacking in the last couple of inches of draw, but I kinda liked the idea of a bit of extra length and mass in the riser for stability as I'll be using it for 3d as well as hunting. I'd like to try a sage to compare... maybe once I get a bit more money co...

Re: Adjustable string nock

That is the reason why the compounders always have to have pressure buttons against arrows ....] I don't. I use a drop-away and if you apply any side pressure to the arrow it will fall off the rest. (Even a strong wind will blow it off the rest.) I'm a bit reluctant to bump this 'heated' thread to ...
