Jase, That is surprising that even in England they are misusing the term 'Arrowsmith'. A 'Smith' is the worker of metal afterall. It seems a sign of the times how many of our Archery terms are being misused which only leads to confusion IMO. Jeff I know mate - I however will now refrain from misusi...

"Arrowsmiths" depends on who you ask in this country mate :) Some say arrowsmiths are the people that make the points others say its the name given to makers of the whole arrow (inc making the shaft from raw material etc) which is why I used the term :D Hmm not sure what to do then â€â€...

Very nice grouping there mate! I'm having a good day if I can get a 14" grouping at 60yards (55m) but then again I'm a target archer and 40 yards (37m) is usually my minimum distance and I'm having a good day if I even hit the target at 80 yards (74m). Oh and I'm not very good which doesn't hel...

Hickory shafts?

Hi all

Got a question for you arrowsmiths out there. I have a chance at some Hickory shafts and wanted to know if any of you have used this wood for your arrows? Is this wood hard to straighten etc? Your input would be appreciated.

Thanks guys and gals :)

I agree totally MaylandL. It's a time-out therapy induced thing for me as well. I find myself lost in making the best set of arrows I can and the more I make the more I enjoy it. I am generally a really busy person, career, family, house renovation, bass player in a band, running a music community w...

I have no way of testing flight speed but I can put them on a target comfortably at 60 yards :)

Hi there. I take off and use points from broken arrows all the time bud. I use a low light on my gas hob and gently heat up the point. After around 60 secs or so (turn it while heating) I then use a pair of pliers to slowly pull the point off. Keeping hold of the point with the pliers I quickly clea...

Flatbow suggestions

Hi all. Just sold my clunky horrible metal recurve bow as I haven't shot it for nearly 2 years. I'm thinking of buying a one piece flatbow to go with my ELB. Bearing in mind I'm in the UK would you guys have any suggestions on makes to look out for?

Cheers

Refund. I found this to be oh-so-close to interesting, but it was mostly no talking, the odd whack of arrow on target (my laptop doesn't play the sounds, I had to use another pc) and many of the captions did move too fast to read. Also many of the slo-mo shots just kep going on and on and on and on...
