Re: Harvesting deer for meat

The only deer meat in Australia that has real changes to quality because of rutting is fallow, and even then it isn't as big a drama as people make out. Fallow meat changes in quality during the rut because of the loss of condition of the deer. You also have to take care that you do not allow any of...

hunting on PUBLIC land has been suspended, there is no change to PRIVATE land hunting at all. You still need a licence to hunt deer.

Re: Concrete cutting blades

I use concrete blades a lot. Look for the big ones, at least 18 inches across. You can cut the knives out with a 4 inch grinder and a thin cut off blade. The steel is soft but good quality and you can just heat treat the blades when you finish using any recipe you like that suits 1095, L6 or any sim...

Update today in the SMH... http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/senior-hunting-official-charged-20130406-2hd2e.html The SMH are not neutral in their treatment of the GC and hunters. There are other reports with a slightly different slant... http://www.centralwesterndaily.com.au/story/1412435/mcfarland-courtin...

The declarations are time limited and have to be renewed from time to time. If you recall the original roll out was in at least 3 stages and so the re-declarations are following the same pattern.

the folding bow looks sweet. Well shaped riser with limbs off the belly side

I don't see the slotted recurve as being very powerful. If indeed the draw has zero weight half way through the draw you would have a strange looking power curve for sure. Has anybody here ever shot one?

Admitting you don't know the answer to a question is not all that difficult, I have to do it all the time in my work. It appears that she did just that? Re: ...aaaaand the media attack on the game council continue

Loaded questions, and creative editing. Last night on the ABC the 7.30 report interviewed John Mumford and asked him "Is it possible to get a licence to hunt in a national park without ever having fired a rifle?", To which he replied "well, yes" and was promptly cut off before he...

Re: Oops. Not a good look

My point on business reports is, why should a publically owned station bother with them if all the commercial channells run them religiously? See? Pointless pandering to the Right, simple as that. I don't gamble so they are irrelevent to me. : Just as a government must be a government for all a nat...

Re: Oops. Not a good look

I'd also suggest that in the long view , the ABC is as corrupt and so very tainted with self interest that any difference between them and their commercial counterparts are in idealogy only. I saw a great example of this just last week. In the days following the shootings in Newtown the NRA kept qu...

No need to lecture me on the law Roadie - innocent till proven guilty yes, but not a good look - and GC honchos should be entirely above suspicion. It might be a set up with blokes falsely identifying themselves, but there is the issue of a GC vehicle. Unless that was faked. But then we have the gu...

Yeah, that guy obviously has a bit of an agenda, but he did raise an interesting point.... None of the 27 native mammals that have become extinct since European settlement in Australia were wiped out purely by introduced predators like foxes and cats. Although predation is definitely a contributing...
