Hi guys It is indeed very much tongue placed firmly in cheek. More Disney Robin than Prince of thieves. If you look at it from that point of view it's a piece of light entertainment although as a longbow archer some of the stuff on there is terrible and really makes me cringe! I think what they are ...

Hi all - did a search on this and couldn't find anything but apologies if this question has been answered. I know about Gateway and Trueflight feathers but just bought some 5" shield AMG feathers in from the US and the colours are fantastic - very rich! I can't find any company info on these. A...

Re: Toth Bows from Wildwood Traditional Archery

Hey Jaselpool, they can be strung with the 'step through' method of stringing. It is the safest method plus the one the Bowyer recommends. I've sent you a PM with all the details you require mate. regards Gav ps: I love using mine in field and 3d events as they are easy to carry through scrub and b...

I think I have found a second bow for myself :) Sent a PM to Lochmoy for prices etc as I think it could well be my christmas present from my other half. How do you string one of those bows? Do you have a specialised stri...

Hi - I've made totally black arrows for my other half. After quite a bit of trial and error I found black indian ink gave me a good depth of colour on the shaft. I think you can buy Little choppers or Vario choppers in a "raven" style which look the same as Legolas's arrows in LOTR. I'll h...

Bear in mind that medieval archers were pulling bows between 160-185+ as a minimum so the weight of the original arrow heads would have travelled better. If you're shooting a lower weight bow than this then wouldn't you need to drop the weight of the arrow head in comparison to achieve a better flig...

Hi - You could always make yourself a set or get a local fletcher to replicate them for you :D

There are loads of helpful threads on here on making arrows and also on the frontpage there are the LEGENDS links.

If you need any help just holla :)

I've got 6 machined bodkins similar to the Richard Head points, from Alwyn's Arrows in the UK, which is now shut down. They're 125 grains and for machined heads, they look really nice and not too perfect. Some I find lok way too neat and tidy and are obviously machine made, whereas these ones still...

Yep seen them the other day. I buy mine from Richard Head Longbows. They are similar and are 90p each ($1.69).

I might just get some of those and see what they look like on a medieval arrow :)

Hi Mick I use the 3 blade hacksaw. The nocks you see in my Avatar were done this way. I use a tenon saw to make the first cut for the purpleheart or horn insert and I make this 1.25" deep following the grain. I then use the 3 hacksaws to widen the insert following the tenon cut. I then glue in ...

Jase, Not sure if there has been any deatailed threads dealing with how to split and grind your own feather on Ozbow. Do a search on Trad Gang as there are numerous threads relating to this subject. Here is one with some detailed photos that may help you. http://tradgang.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?...
