Re: surplus bows for sale.

The Black Dog...

Just a little prompt for all of us... Yesterday, I received the tragic news that a good mate had lost in his long term struggle with the "Black Dog". Remember to check on your mates often, talk...listen and just be there. If you're struggling, it's hard to see your way out of that deep dar...

Advice please?

I'm considering buying an old Bear Grayling Kodiak Magnum recurve. There are some chips in the finish on the sides of the riser and a couple of holes on the right side (where it appears a sight may have been attached). I was just wondering if anyone could advise on reputable bow restorers in Austral...

Re: 3 piece take-down longbows

Jeff and Dennis... howled down, "no". My apologies, I was simply referring to the design as referred to on many sites and bowyers order forms. I know there is a range of discrepancies between bow designs and the name given to identify them. Back to the original post - do any Aussie bowyers...

3 piece take-down longbows

A few years ago, I used to notice 3 piece longbows (generally U.S. made) coming up for sale on here every couple of months... but over the last couple of years, I have seen very few. Did these fall "out of favour" amongst Australian archers - or are people hanging onto the ones that are ou...

First one for my Gringa Curve...

Took this one in July in a local cane field. The stalk invovled a 20m belly-crawl through a run off drain (dry thankfully) and a sneaky creep aongside the full grown cane as the hare sat broadside. Got into about 15m and a vic ash shaft tipped with 160 grain ribtek had him down in about 20m. Being f...

Have a chat to Little Arrows (Sue)... They supply/make a quiver that will grip 5/16 diameter arrows. Google Wallace Woods for photos.

I need to send some broadhead tipped Port Orford Cedar arrows to Melbourne - and am trying to figure out the best way to package them to prevent damage to the cresting and feathers.
