Hopefully a bit of history

Latched onto this fine old (no stampings) Bowie which was ID'd by those who know :geek: as German origin made for the South American market It has very finely done Pommel and guard work. (nickel silver). The scarbbard is not original to the knife and is said to be of central American origin but is t...

Re: KA-BARs Anybody out there

This is my treasured Red Stripe Pal RH (Remington Hunting) 37 with parkerized blade. Has not seen a lot of use for a est' 1943 issue. It has USN stamped sheath with US Navy stamped on the Ricasso. I thought I had a M4 Pal but no can find (senior moment). Often wonder about the owners over the years ...

Re: KA-BARs Anybody out there

Very nice Joe... that Pal looks pretty pristine. What a history. During WW2 their entire production was evidently dedicated to military knives .
You are correct it is a virtual lookalike to the USN Mark 1 (M H Cole 114).
I will dig out a couple I have and post.
Thanks for showing.

Hi Pete....will send detail.... apart from previous cautious comments on blade these Pakistani efforts are showing signs of not being to bad at all.
Just picked up a 17" Bowie blank for $15 complete with double brass guard shipping $18.00. :surprised:
