Otis

I've been in several pistol clubs over the years and I've never even heard of a pistol club that doesn't have a chrono , one of the first things a pistol club buys

Re: minimum poundage

One of the most prolific bow hunters I've known never used a bow over 45# and as he got older only used a 40# bow , he had a shoulder injury and just couldn't pull a stronger bow , but he was also a extremely good hunter and stalker and for him a 25 ft shot was considered a long one , comes down to ...

Rod I tried to take some some full draw pics but just couldn't work out how to handle the camera and bow both at the same time , asked my wife to take some pic's but she reckons she's working and even if she wasn't she wasn't going out in the rain Steve Will take some pictures over the next few days...

Re: Some new bows

Gentlemen Thank you . Otis I've used 5 laminations of Coffee bamboo and two of .040" glass for a thickness all up of .430" Bare in mind that my scales aren't all that accurate so the weight of 45# for the last one may be a bit off , it does feel heavier to me and with my 30" draw I ha...

Some new bows

LB Rod 55 reckons I've been a bit slack lately because I've been making bows and haven't taken the time to post them on the site , I meant to but I tend to spend most of my time in the workshop with one project or another when I'm home so posting to the site some times takes a back seat , but it's r...

My Colonoscopy last year went well , no problems and I was out cold , they also put rubber bands on my hemorrhoids while there which is another story but I do have a good story about my first Prostate exam Some 8 or so years ago I was getting my prostate checked by my doctor who happened to be a pre...

I don't have one and probably won't get one but I've always thought they would be good to find out when game are coming onto the dams to drink in hard hunted areas , I don't have any problem with them at all

Re: Walking the Dog

Get some Habanero Chillies , chop them up fine and leave them in a jar with metho for a week , drain out the metho using a funnel and a coffee filter into a nasal spray , this method will keep more of the oils than just boiling them in water , the nasal spray is more unobtrusive than a water pistol ...

Rod You watched that DVD on how to use the router yet ? The Router is one of the most versatile tools in the workshop , I have three of them and really need at least one more . Most people who go and buy their first router don't get one big enough to do what they need , best to do your research firs...

Re: What did you think of Steve Irwin

I first talked to him for about ten minutes many years ago and all up probably would have had no more that half a hours conversation with him over the years so I don't claim to know the man , he would have been in his late teens at the time and the Reptile park his father owned wasn't very well know...

First off I have to say that I know a number of Doggers who are a credit to the sport and take it seriously and really care for their dogs and comply with a code of practice when they hunt , that said I've been dogging several times and it holds about as much joy for me as watching paint dry of havi...

Re: First knuckle.

For most of my shooting life I shot with bare fingers , much of that time I was shooting heavy bows , the last ones were a 70# compound and a 70# longbow , now my draw was 30" and I was drawing some thing more than 70# out of the long bow , I had some serious callouses on my fingers , but about...

If you have a 4x4 you could take them up through Deepwater to Agnes and then maybe Eurumbulla Creek and Middle Creek or maybe canoeing down Baffle Creek

I have to disagree with many of the people here , and I know many of them said it in jest but a shop can't be too clean , I tend to be messy and only clean up after finishing a project and before starting a new one but I do know that with a clean shop it's easier to find tools and materials , especi...
