Thanks for the nice comments guys The steel is from an old sawmill blade and should be something like 1095. I have made a lot of knives from this blade and know that it hardens just right for a nice fine edge. Leaf spring would work for this too but if it is old it may have stress fractures you wont...

Draw knife..

So I agreed to swap a draw knife for some osage some months ago but a pinched nerve in the neck has kept me out of the shed until now.
Got this finished today so will be in the mail soon to the new owner. I hope he is happy with the deal. :oops:

An update for anyone else this may happen too...
I spoke to the receiving bank and they have told me no bank in Australia has that wrong bsb so the transaction cant go through and will bounce back.No sign so far...

Shield cuts in my humble opinion(after testing) have been found to be a fair bit noisier.Others may have found a different result and I in no way suggest that my results are conclusive and/or correct for others. :lol:

Thanks guys for the comments I see stuff on youtube and think wow I might try that...then this happens.It is funny because people say wow you must be patient to make this stuff but it is what keeps me on an even keel.

I will respond to one of the posts,against my better judgement. To increase spine weight in an arrow to the point of extreme foc in a wood arrow the weight of arrow then overrides the foc.
