Re: Whats the best GPS
The 76 series may be discountinued, but it still works for me, I am sure it does, they are a great unit, but the OP was looking for a new unit to buy now Also what is wrong with learning how to use a COMPASS and maps. Absolutely nothing, in fact it is a must, but it isn't what the thread is about. ...

Re: Whats the best GPS
If I was looking to buy a replacement now I would go either the Garmin 62s or the Garmin etrex30. Other good models by Garmin too, like the oregon and dakota but they are touch screen and for me that isn't a selling feature. With the Garmin units you can get Garmin or Hema maps (cost dollars) or var...

Re: Deporting Illegal Aliens
Sorry Matt, I totally disagree. The courts, and the police, did the right thing. I applaud the judge for not giving in to the mothers attempts to blackmail the courts through the tabloid style media. Had she respected the law in the first place none of it would have been necessary. She was responsi...

Glad the lightning didn't cause any harm. Scary stuff when it strikes close, the noise alone can turn your bowels to water.
as always some great pics of the hunt, thanks for sharing.

Cards V Cubs, a great rivalry and one with plenty of fire this season. Hopefully ESPN or ONE will telecast it. Have fun :) Gloves There is no brand on my summer gloves, and my winter ones are stony creek (easier to get from NZ than US) You should look to see if they have any Kuiu gear. Rugged stuff ...

Jindy - yep, we are going to St Louis in a couple of days and part of our hotel package is tickest to a Cardinals v Twins game, seating either in Left or Right field and shuttle bus to and from. The proposed Regs make...

I can see where tom's post would have made you guys nervous and I can understand you deleting it, but I don't see why you would delete most of the thread and lock it. Like John I think that having a "shooting the breeze" section is a bit pointless if we can't discuss topics of interest to ...

Re: WILD DOG CONTROL AND BOWS
Hi Mick. I don't understand how anybody can see supporting bowhunting can be anything but good? If hunters are allowed to kill wild dogs, and they are, then people should know that bowhunters are as interested in having a go as the rifle users. Not everyone supports hunting and not everyone support...

Re: WILD DOG CONTROL AND BOWS
It would be an obvious denial of natural justice for a court to rely on a scientific test of some sort to determine what you have shot when you as the hunter only have your best judgement based on what you see to determine if you should shoot. Are these dogs or are they dingos, if they were shot in ...

Re: WILD DOG CONTROL AND BOWS
The nub in Victoria is that genuine Dingoes (which are pretty rare there) are fully protected. So it is incumbent upon the bowhunter to be able to tell the difference. . Can you point us to the rules for Vic Dennis, in NSW it is very simple and easy to understand, a dog is not a dingo unless it is ...

Great stuff Tommy
I use Elements 10. There is a lot of learning to do when working with raw but you can do a lot with it too.

Re: What do we think (and play nicely)
The insurance provided by the GC (and by SSAA and ABA and others) is third party insurance and it doesn't cover an insured person for personal injury to themselves while hunting, it only covers damages that you might be liable for through an accident during hunting (eg, a damaged building, car or wa...

Re: What do we think (and play nicely)
I want to look at it all in the wider picture - would that minor be insured - or insurable. I'd like to check on that. You would expect so, the R licence having a liability insurance policy attached to it. It would be good to know though if a document signed by the parents accepting responsibility ...

Re: What do we think (and play nicely)
Rob I believe that when Looseplucker said I think I'd be OK with my young bloke out with a bow by himself, depending on the terrain etc - but not with a shooter until at least 15 or 16. (underlining mine) He was talking in a more general sense about what HE would allow his bow to do, not commenting ...

Re: What do we think (and play nicely)
Jindy, you acknowledge a minor might be hunting on public land. Yes, but there is no blanket restriction on a child having a knife on public land, there are many exceptions. The restriction on carriage and sale of knives is found within the Summery Offences Act 1988 There are indeed restrictions on...

Re: What do we think (and play nicely)
So why should Financial and or Moral standards be an issue. Does that mean that if you come from the lower part of the ladder that you and your children are not fit to go hunting, because you are a bit short on cash, so there fore you are a danger to the rest of the popluace. CRAP. Cheers Roadie. I...

Saying it twice doesn't add anything new. What law prevents through prohibition the carrying of a knife by a minor while out hunting?longbowinfected wrote:Minors are not allowed to buy knives or have them in public places.....in NSW
