Re: My Trad Journey, Mk II
Hi Moreton, yeah i have tried the VA shafts, i used them for my longbow arrows, but i want to buy all my parts from one place because then i don't have to pay extra for shipping and it is easier to organise. Also, i like the lighter wood of the Cedar. But thanks for the idea. Also, has anyone ever t...

Re: My Trad Journey, Mk II
Mick, They will be Trueflight, I've got prices from 3 different retailers now, just got to decide which one i'll go with. I agree with you on Trueflight feathers, my brother uses them and they're great. I don't think i'll get Sitka Spruce, unless anyone knows anything about them, as i think i'll jus...

Re: My Trad Journey, Mk II
Well i found a cheaper place to buy arrow parts, but i haven't spoken to John yet, but this other place only sells Sitka Spruce shafts, and they're only 11/32 @ 45-50#, or i go too low, so i can't have 5/16 shafts. Has anybody had any experience with Sitka Spruce?
Thanks,
Carl
Thanks,
Carl

My Trad Journey, Mk II
Hi guys Well recently i got back into archery, after having a break for ages and re-caught the bug. So, deciding that i want a faster bow (my current one is a 35# viper(?) longbow) which i can go hunting with, and considering i already had a longbow, i thought i'd get a recurve. So thats what i did....

Re: Glove or tab
Ive used a glove, finger tab and many releases when i used to shoot compound and i found that the best out of all was the glove. Finger tabs curl and move around alot, and for every shot you've got to readjust it. And releases on a compound get annoying. However, i don't like all gloves, like the on...

Re: small and Razr feathers
I'm not sure, but I always thought larger feathers/fletches straightened out the arrow faster (as a general rule), so if you're doing hunting where you're not shooting at too big distances, it is best to have longer feathers, as the arrow straightens out faster, which means your arrow doesn't penetr...

Re: Thoughts on new arrows?
Thanks for all the comments guys Yeah, i wasn't sure about the adaptors on woods and i started leaning towards just making two sets of woods (especially since my brothers' POC shafts came in the post yesterday-a dozen- and they smelled beautiful :D ) Well, now i just gotta decide my points, nocks, f...

Re: Home made Back Quiver and 6x stubbies
Nice Quiver Gundy!
Im sure the bottom stitching will pay off in how well it performs... but until then, you've got a sore hand AND a nice quiver! Its almost a win/win situation!
And definitely make the bow quiver, mine failed, so i want to see how well yours works.

Re: Thoughts on new arrows?
Thanks for that Jaydo, that makes sense. I have thought about carbon but after using them when i used to shoot compound and not liking them very much, i would prefer to stick to wood or ally.

Re: Thoughts on new arrows?
Thats a good point Jaydo, but an aluminium arrow would get better penetration than a wooden wouldn't it?

Thoughts on new arrows?
G'day all Im getting a new bow (thanks Mick :D ), Its a Ben Pearson Signature Takedown Recurve, 47# and i was just wondering what you think i should do arrows-wise? I want to also hunt with it so i decided that these are my options: 1. Two sets of arrows, one with broadheads and one with target/fiel...

Help for choosing a new take-down recurve?
Hello Guys Well I've just 'recovered' from a large break of Archery lol, I've got a longbow which is still shooting beautifully, but i want a new, different bow. So, does anyone know of any nice, 45#, take-down recurves that would be good for hunting, or any companies that make a bow like this? Main...

Hey Clinglish whereabouts are you going hunting and what for? I live in the Perth hills so i'm just curious. My Aunty has a small poultry farm which was getting attacked by a fox. It wasn't taking live baits and was really consistent in where it jumped the fence and what time so we were going to set...

Hi guys i've just finished cresting and staining a new set of arrows. There Victorian Ash 5/16 40/45# I shoot a 35# viper longbow and they come out nicely. I am deciding whether to use parabolic or shield cut. I am using 4" due to the lack in poundage. I have got a pack of parabolics but i reck...
