its the CITES agreement that is the biggest hurdle, you need to provide evidence that the skin is not from a CITES listed species like a boa or anaconda etc otherwise they will need to check and will charge you for their time.

As an addendum to my previous post about the GT Classics, when we spun them up to check the straightness they wobbled like woods (except 3) and the ones in the middle were markedly blemished, so they got sent back :shock: Now looking at some Carbon Epics :D

I have been caught before importing a bow with rattler skin on the limbs effin UPS handed it to customs who too three weeks to identify the skin via a local herp expert (to make sure it wasnt on CITES list like boa or anaconda) then sent to Lucas Heights for irradiation to kill any bugs, total cost ...

Ive just started with the same shafts (35-55# around a .500 spine), cut to 27" and using ACC 108gr target points, no wire, 3x4" shield cuts, and a wrap. I estimate around 350gr all up and ideal for my new 45# equus or 45# talon hyper. I think the idea of the carbons is to allow lower pound...

8mm hardwood dowel as a shaft, .38 special case as blunt, blaze orange fletches and any old nock that fits. At under $2 an arrow who cares if you lose it.

I bought my brass ones from Quicks in the UK, but i've seen whistlers made from spent .38 special cartridges with the primer knocked out and a couple of holes in the side. 8)
