Just another thing to note, with the case-sensitive name the email notifications sent prior to the change are no longer valid links.

Glad to see it is back up promptly - other forums and sites have been down for ages following attacks... (tossers.....)

HAHAHAHAH! Last weekend at I was at a motorkhana. Some random spectator decided to hook a bunch of donuts on the driveway before he left. Silly him... he returned and promptly a local cop showed up, parked him in and threw the book at him for a protracted and very public ar5e-reaming. however,... th...

Dumb statement coming up: v2.0. So... the untensioned reflex is built in by having the material bent into shape, then the layer of laminate that is added on the "inside of the curve" is shorter overall than length it is bonded to? Sorry, even though I am sitting on a "bent" plyw...

I saw that, then I found this: http://forum.hunting.net/asppg/tm.asp?m=917583 when meandering around bowhunting.com after seeing the thread in the australian bowhunting website with the pics of the shattered carbon arrow in the dudes hand.... He claims to have nailed a caribou with one... (the anima...

Well ain't that sweet.

I used my 8yo son as an excuse to give archery a go... and I'm into it, but he still seems to just want to hit trees with sticks and throw rocks at stuff after a nanosecond or two....

But there is still a 4yo girl in reserve... ;)

Guys, get looking NOW! Here, locally, the colleges have in the last week started advertising their Adult-Ed courses as the school term and college semesters are just about to start. I can't get over the fact that when I was in school (a while back...), I treated the wood and metal classes like crap,...

Norman, just a thought. Here in Canberra, the college schools and I think the technical colleges offer "project courses" for adult education which are basically where you rock up and use their gear to do what you want for a couple of hours a week, for an entire semester. I did one a year b...

It is an interesting situation. While only new to this sport, I've been around a few other things in the past that I think help me have a different perspective on it than some others might. It would seem that Trad is pretty well a consumer driven movement, not one that is following the manufacturers...

uh oh.... another forum with men who have their undies over their clothing....

I might make a call and see what I can do with sourcing a MIND30 - the local shop had them listed at $210 and around $120 for other limbs. (june 04 price list)

Thanks guys. I could just go and buy a Samick Masters riser, funky limbs, stabilisers and nifty pin sights, but drilling blow-flies at distances I can't even see them over isn't what I'm interested in. I just want to learn to shoot properly and plink to my little hearts content. The warmth of wood h...

International Limb Fitting - wood risers?

OK, I'm a complete newbie and only very recently got involved in archery. I am looking for a "beginners" bow - a recurve that I can get a few different weight limbs to progress through as I (hopefully) increase draw strength. So in this near vertical learning curve I've sussed that there i...

Is "traditional" a current trend?

I was meandering through www.basspro.com and for the first time I found them selling "traditional" bows - not just takedown recurves, but Fred Bear longbows and Martin 1 piece jobbies. I've got a couple of their catalogues going back to maybe '97 and I'm sure I've never seen anything that ...

Derelict2: is there a distinction between "coursing" (using the dog to hunt down and corner than animal) and using the dog as a companion or to indicate/point game? A Weimaraner ( and same for gsp, viszla, the setters, spaniels, etc) are supposed to point, flush or indicate on game, unlike...

I used to think poodles were dogs for dead set shirt lifters, hair dressers and zipper jockeys.... but I used to do obedience and agility trials (those dog obstacle courses with tunnels, weaving poles, etc) and we had a couple of miniature poodles that really did very well. Jack Russell's and other terriers are, by their nature, probably a little too manic and excitable for what you are after. They certainly are a duracell bunny "keeps on keeping on..." but one true to his breeding will go after stuff. And thats the problem... stuff might be anything! They se...
