the only record i know of is mark stretton who shot a 200# bow in 2004 ,it was made by the bickerstaffe bowyer's ,since then mark has had to have a shoulder reconstruction.

my uncle has the right idea when he makes arras ,if the shoot left givem to someone else if they shoot right givem to someone else, if they shoot straight ...keep em .with 8 archers in my family shooting 30#to 80# i find the same works well for me .

i think our biggest problem is ,we are ,as i was once called, a bow donkey .i loved my recurve that i bought in 74 and thought that was the only bow to have ,then i got a flat bow which i still use to hunt with and love ,but then i found the asian bows and had to have one of them and wasnt overly im...

have to agree with you rod ,the last dunolly shoot i used bamboo and didnt lose one ,so my hand planing shafts may be over.

i want to know where i can get these indestructible aluminium arras from ,i'd hate to guess how many allies i bent first time out and as i make my own shafts and arras i think im well ahead in the price stakes .

all this came up at a trad shoot about 4 yrs ago ,i was asked if you dont come here to win why do you come here? wouldnt you like a trophy ? my son who hardly ever says a word said ,all dads trophy's are in the freezer ,says it all really .

being at that trad shoot and shooting in primitive class with homemade boo arras i agree with little john to a certain aspect of the game ,shooting knitting needles is not in the spirit of the game but i think the commeradery and fun of the weekend outweighs all ,just remember there are trophy hunte...
