I'd be all over this like a rash, if only it was a bit lighter in draw weight. Damn my dodgy shoulder!!

Re: Lunchbox Cookers
At first, I thought this was an Aprils fools day joke, but I think the link pretty much disproves that notion.
I'm always extra cynical on the morning of April 1st.
I don't own one of those cookers. I always thought the butane bottles were a little too close to the burner for my liking.

It's a right handed one. I don't think they work with lefties. It has obviously been used, but there's barely a mark on it.

Re: wtb bow quiver
Hey flyne, I've got a Great Northern adjustable strap on bow quiver. It has a leather hood. It holds 5 11/32'' arrows. You can buy arrow grippers for 5/16 inch shafts for these quivers from 3 Rivers Archery. I also have a spare Thunderhorn Boa Small Fry bow quiver, which holds 4 arrows. This is also...

Re: Who consciously uses back tension to improve their accur
Yes, I know what you're saying. I was at my local range the other day and I started the day off with some, for me, excellent shooting. I was shooting at ABA paper animal targets at various distances and I was getting 20s and 18s every time. Then the rot started to set in. I started getting a few 16s...

Re: Who consciously uses back tension to improve their accur
yep It may only be one word, but it does tell me something. I've seen you shoot littlejohn59 and I've seen the results. Obviously, you are doing something right and perhaps using back tension goes some way towards explaining it. It almost goes without saying that most target archers are very consci...

Who consciously uses back tension to improve their accuracy?
I've been doing a lot of experimentation in recent years in an effort to find out why my accuracy has often been less than optimal. My shooting has always been very inconsistent. One day I would shoot surprisingly well and the next day my results would be less than mediocre. I'm now firmly convinced...

Re: Beautiful old Bear Alaskan on Australian ebay.
I'm just trying to talk myself out of buying the Alaskan Dennis. I know, if I bought it, I would shoot it. As tempting as it is, I've decided that I don't want to become a collector of bows (again). As far as shooting it is concerned, I already have bows that perform very well, so I don't need anoth...

Re: Beautiful old Bear Alaskan on Australian ebay.
Yeah, that was what I was thinking Daryl. Even it I decided to shoot it, I would be constantly worried about it exploding. It might be okay, but it's getting quite old now and I don't know how well the glue they used in those days would hold up over such a long period of time. It would be nice to ow...

Re: Eye alignment directly over the top of the arrow?
I thought I'd try a bit of an experiment today. To me, it would seem reasonable that if you held your bow vertically and if you had your eye directly above the arrow, you would have to have the string right in front of your master eye. I usually cant the bow slightly, but today I held it as vertical...

Re: You know you're getting old and stupid when this happens
Today I had a bright idea. I thought rather than just flinging arrows at the club's range for practice, I should actually score myself doing the 20 animal target course using ABA rules. By doing this, I thought I could monitor my progress, or lack of progress with my accuracy. I found a blank piece ...

Re: How often do you hunt?
Personally, I'd class small game hunting as hunting in this poll. It's just about all the hunting that I do these days. I particularly enjoy whistling up foxes and usually where there's foxes there's a few bunnies to hunt too. I only have to travel from 5 to 10 minutes to get to my properties.

What's the latest news from Traditional Archery Australia?
I was under the impression the Traditional Archery Australia committee had their AGM after or during the Wisemans Ferry shoot recently. I would have thought there would be some information supplied to TAA members about the meeting, like the minutes, for example, but I haven't been able to locate the...

How often do you hunt?
How often do you hunt, on average? Not that it really matters. We have a diverse group of members here on Ozbow. I know that many don't hunt at all and that's fine too. I'm curious to see what the ratio of keen hunters is to occasional hunters and to non hunters. Why? I'm just a sticky beak and it m...

Re: You know you're getting old and stupid when this happens
I'll be able to use the two bow quivers. These quivers are better suited for use with recurves, as the rubber mounting bracket is shaped to fit the thinner profile of a recurve limb. I read on the box, that the quiver is packed in, that you can cut off one side of where the bracket fits against the ...

The other day I was checking out fleabay. It's something I often do when I'm a bit bored and can't think of anything I'd rather do. Anyway, I was checking out quivers. It can be interesting to see some of the more 'out there' designs. Usually they come from US based sellers, who might be trying to s...

It looks like it will be very tasty. It's just the right size. Well done.
What sort of shafts are you using there? Have you ever managed to cut yourself on your exposed broadheads? I've got one of those Kwikee quivers too, but I haven't used it since the day I managed to slice myself.

Re: And so the recurve journey begins....
Looking good Rod. It has turned out beautifully. I've seen recurves with much higher brace heights than that, but I think you're probably pretty close to the mark. You won't be able to reduce the noise beyond a certain level, as recurves are just plain noisy. If you're getting good arrow flight, wit...

Re: First stab at War Bow arrows
They look great. If anything, they're too good. I mean, the original ones would have been very plain and businesslike, I imagine. You've done a fantastic job on them. I like the English flag that's visible in the spliced fletching.
