G'day Bstan76, Its called Heterodyning... I use 1/4 from top and 1/3 from bottom. Just keeps the cats whiskers slightly further away from face. Will work either way.

Got to love the grain combination in the palm timber. Been out ripping into a pole today and made up some veneers. Don't think it will turn out as dark as this beauty though.

Re: new ABA rules on aluminium arrows?
I was reading through the ABA rules posted and it states that Traditional division must be shot using the ‘Mediterranean’ loose. I see plenty of people getting all geared up to shoot trad but then go and shoot three fingers under. Which puts them straight into "Modern Longbow". I've explai...

Sweeeeeet, only ever done that once, years ago but with wheels.
Shows you what a razor sharp broadhead can do with that low shot.
I'm looking forward to when it starts warming up and they start responding to the whistle again. Not long.....
Good job

Hey Ranger, I found him sleeping and that's where he stayed. I cut over a "S" bend in a dry feeder creek and he was sleeping in the sand 12m below me. I ducked down behind the crest, nocked an arrow, stepped forward and shot. All happened in about 5 secs. Got him down through the front of ...

That's a ripper of a Stag. A job well done mate. It smokes the ABA Australian Record. I'm heading over in June for 10 days for a look, I'll be happy if I see a deer let alone a stag. Your bush is nothing like we have in the West and I'm really looking forward to getting out in it. Truly a once in a ...

Hey Chuditch, I loaded it onto a 7" Samsung tablet recently for when we did the Connie Sue/Anne Beadell at the start of this month. I linked it to my Hema maps and it works spot on. I'm not one to have it running all the time, only turning it on when required. Its fast to link to satellites on ...

Cheers People, I skinned and salted the dog and will endeavour to tan it down the track. Not sure if it will go on the wall or be made into a quiver. Either way it will be a reminder of my first kill with my bow.

Blooded new bow
Took the new bow for a drive up to our goat property. Lots of water around and heaps of feed. Not many opportunities unfortunately, plus wild dogs have moved in and are giving them a flogging. I managed a wild dog at 12m in a cool dry creek. He didn't move from his bed. The 220gn Outback destroyed h...

G'day mate, I use 0.340 spine goldtips that bare-shaft straight at 32" with ally insert and 220gn points from 50lb center shot longbow and that's with my 31"draw. 0.400 come out straight with 100gn total in front. So If there shooting nock right go heavier, either in point or insert, if yo...

Re: String performance
Hi Stu Ballz, I read a post on here a while back about the placement of your string silencers. Tried searching for it but couldn't find it. The basic idea is that they are placed at different distances so they cancel out different frequencies. This is the first time I've tried it this way. The bow i...

String performance
I had a wisdom tooth out in hospital on Monday and while recovering at home I've taken the time to make up some gear. So in between sipping soup and taking panadol forte I've been reading lots on string performance verses the number of strands. As I wanted to make a new string for the bow I just fin...
