Re: Check out our new second hand pop top camper
Hey Chris, that looks a great unit. Perfect for those archery weekends but also capable enough for a longer trip. The trip out west to Longreach and parts further west is a really great one with some really great things to see and experience. In Longreach itself the Stockman's Hall of Fame and the Q...

Should arrive early afternoon if I'm coming on my own and early evening if I bring either or both of the kids with me. At this stage one definite for the weekend and for one XL shirt please. Re: Wisemans Ferry TRADITIONAL ARCHERY GET-TOGETHER MARCH 20
Well what a great weekend of trad archery with some very challenging shooting ... especially the Challenge! I didn't shoot very well - steep up and down shots and no practice since last year... well they're my excuses anyway. Thanks to Rob, Di, Nergle and all the others who helped organise, s...

Re: possible shoot sunshine coast
Hey Big Bob, I'd be happy to come up to the coast for a shoot - either one day or two - it's only about a one hour drive for me. Also, I'd be happy to find a place to camp in the area if it was a two day shoot. As for the biteys good old Bushman's works wonders. Keep us in the loop via OzBow as soon...

Hey Big Bob, maybe that's where I went wrong - early to bed and no wine??? My Saturday shooting was ordinary at best but my Sunday (especially the second range) was a real shocker - I think I missed more than I hit and broke three arrows into the bargain. If I don't see you at The Jules Shield I loo...

So thanks to the hardworking crew at Caboolture and District Bowmen for another great shoot and to the lovel...

To all the HVTA Team, thanks for a great weekend at the Gathering this year. This was my first time at HVTA and it really was good fun. Although your course setter is a devil isn't he? Tiny rats at big distances were for me very challenging. And how sneaky was the standing bear shot? Here in the sun...

Re: where they land
The link from Perry will be very helpful - just remember where they talk about arrows landing right or left this is for an archer who draws RIGHT handed. If you draw LEFT handed they will be opposite for you. The other thing is just to work on fixing one thing at a time. If you have a number of vari...

Re: Practice session made a difference :D
Hey Tracey, good to see you are taking the time to think it through and find what works for you... there is nothing like good consistent form and practice, practice, practice if you want to improve your shooting. On the glove vs tab issue, I use a glove - it just seemed easier for me than having a t...

Re: New Mongolian Bow...
Hey Guys, thanks for the feedback. I normally draw around 30" so will certainly try again with a "back beyond the ear" draw and see what I get. Even if arrow speed improves the hand shock will still be an issue - as Perry says, there is no getting around the physics I don't have a chr...

Re: New Mongolian Bow...
Well, I had a chance to shoot the new Mongolian horsebow over the weekend and it was pretty disappointing unfortunately. The bow itself is quite long and heavy - it seems "over" engineered and of course there are the siyahs each with added horn emebellishments. There is a carved horse head...

I couldn't resist another new bow - this time direct from Ulan Baatar In Mongolia. It should be here some time this week - can't wait to see how it shoots.
This is a traditional horn and sinew bow actually made in Mongolia.

two really beautiful bows you've got there. I particularly like the Osage Snake - absolutely gorgeous and completely unique!
I hope I get to see 'em both in the flesh at Barambah.

could you please provide an address for the club or at least nearest cross street and suburb? The little map in the flyer is not much use as I'm coming from Brisbane.

Re: Bows that qualify for trad shoots and restrictions
Hey Discord, that's a good question about bamboos arrows - I guess technically they are "grass" rather than wood aren't they? But in all practial senses at a Trad Shoot I have considered them to be "wood". There are a number of people (more and more everyday) who shoot them alrea...
