Re: Trad Shoots in 2013

Hi Sue,

Lakeside have published their 2013 Calendar and it shows the Jules Shield to be on 13 - 14 July 2013 so you can firm up one more date.

Hey Perry,

I had to search out the receipt but yes, it is a Persian not a Turkish.

But still shoots really sweet.

Re: New bow...

Hi Guys, a bit more information for those who are interested.... This bow is 57" tip to tip and 53" nock to nock measured around the curves - brace height is 7" with the supplied 48" string. I have also added a photo showing the bow at full draw. The bow is 45lbs, the arrow is ba...

Re: New bow...

Hi Zarasp, my undertsanding was that the Korean bows were ambidextrous so no I didn't order a left handed one. Do you think I should write to Thomas again? On the picture front - not so easy as I'll need one of my kids to take some shots for me. I'll see how I go and if we can get some decent ones I...

Re: New bow...

Hi Perry, yep there were a couple of eastern style bows at Gympie and one guy was shooting "bare thumbed". A couple of them have SCA backgrounds (Society for Creative Anachronism) where they are limited to I think 30lb bows as they shoot at each other with blunts!! I still shoot split fing...

Re: New bow...

Thanks guys, appreciate the thoughts. Hey Zarasp (now that is an unusual name!), thanks to your recent post about Korean bows I placed an order for one of those today with Thomas. Not that I need another bow but I am building quite a collection of eastern style bows - can't wait for this one to arri...

New bow...

Hi Guys, I recently recieved a new bow from Grozer in Slovakia and thought I would share it with you. It is a 45lb Turkish Bow - biocomposite construction with horn and sinew but the sinew is covered with black leather and hand painted in the turkish style. Not as flash as a Saluki but pretty nice g...

Re: GROZER BIO COMPOSITE has arrived / and EBay Asiatic

Hey Perry, great to see your new bow has arrived and glad to hear you are enjoying shooting it. I found that the more I shoot my Assyrian the better it feels also and my shooting with it continues to improve - although that could just be the extra practice? On the thumbring, 3 Rivers have them avail...

Re: Gringa shoot long weekend

Gee, I'm late here aren't I?? Mark, congrats on a great shoot - you really did put in a lot of effort and we all enjoyed the course, the "special" events and your hospitality, so thank you very much. Some of the more unusual elements like the castle and the fire arrows, the "dancing&q...

Re: Gympie Field Archers Trad shoot 2012

I have to agree with all the positive here - what a great, fantastic, fun shoot. Congratulations to the whole team at Gympie Field Archers for a wonderful shoot - great targets and course layout, great food served by friendly ladies in the canteen and great bathroom facilities as well. Just need a f...

Re: Bio-Composite

Hi Perry, bummer that your bow will be delayed but exciting that it will be a better model!! Glad you enjoyed the photos - I think right now my favourite is the Assyrian, but I love the shape of the little Scythian as well. Who am I kidding, I love 'em all!! Anyway hope to see you at the Gympie Trad...

Re: Bio-Composite

Perry,

OK here are some photos - just need to work out how to get them onto the post!

OK, I've made the images smaller to fit the web requirement and I've attached them... I think.

So I will submit and see what happens - hopefully all works OK.

Re: Bio-Composite

Hi Perry, as long as they have the bow in stock you should get it in less than two weeks - all of mine came in less than that - so here's hoping. The anticipation is a killer though - almost like that first date feeling. Now that was a long time ago, wasn't it? I had my kids last night and with gett...

Re: Bio-Composite

Hi Perry, you might try the website link below. http://hunarchery.com/catalog/laminated-wooden-bow-c-23.html I bought two bows from Grozer himslef - a little complicated in sorting out payment as I had to go to the bank and create an international transfer which cost me A$30. The third bow I bought ...

Re: Bio-Composite

Hi Guys, I have three of these Grozer biocomposite bows - all bought in the last couple of months at Euro250 each. I have a mongolian, a scythian (which is a wicked little recurve) and an assyrian. I am no expert but I really enjoy them - but then I am a fan of asian historical bows and would rather...

You might also try this crowd in Europe - I have bought a few dozen over a number of orders and always been very happy with the servcie, value and quality of the arrows they supply.

Hey Shrek,

Had a great weekend with great company around the campfire each might as well. Put me down for next year as well and I'll see if I can drag the kids along too.
