Thanks Graeme i have some of keiths shafts and am currentyl cresting them i just wanted to try some carbons but they are giving me a hard time. I have alloys which shoot fine and the timber shoots with no problems i just cant get a weighted carbon to work for me. Without the added weigth the carbons...

The fly screen is not to tight but i still have 1.5" i can cut off this shaft so i will try that an see how i go.

I have some Easton epic's 340 which are shooting great out of my recurve as a bare shaft only problem is they are a bit ligth for what i want, total weight when fletched with 125gn broadhead 420gns. I started with a recurve when i was about 13 and later gave it away and started hunting with rifles. In the last 3 years i have gone back to the bow first compound and as of 10 days ago back to the CURVE :D :D

Mate that coil looks a lot like brickies expansion joint foam. I make mine out of it by cutting it into 700mm strips, and place them on the floor edge to edge so they form a flat square 700mm x 700mm than glue the next layer across these and continue to do this until i have a butt about 4" thic...

Coach i started hunting with rifles as a kid i still have a gun safe with my rifles and they may come out occasionally for some target shooting but thats about it now i would rather take my bow.
I still enjoy my reloading and reading about rifles just prefer to get up close now

All the best for the weekend all, Sparra most people use a blaze orange cap and the deer can't see it.
A good tip, if you see or hear deer squat down if they are not sure what you are they will be curious and try to figure out what you are.
