Re: Sinuew

You can get it from 3 rivers archery in the states, they will post it to Australia no problem. The only thing with them is it's a bit expensive. If someone can tell me how to harvest it I might be able to have a go at getting it. Most places sell deer sinew, but is beef any good or pig or lamb?

Re: 100# Hunting recurve, what would it be like?

Hey fanto I built an arrow the other day for my testing out of my recurve and at my draw lengh it is about 85#( it is 76# at 28, 84# at @28amo) and i used a 2117 gamegetter alloy stuffed with a easton powerflight and a 150gr tip gives 770gr and if you want more irrigation tube up the powerflight wil...

Greybeard
I haven't had the chance to shoot the bow out at any great distance but the shooting i have done tells me it likes the 770 grain arrows, i shot all arrows very well in fact but the lightest arrows certainly had more hand shock.

Fanto
I would be interested to see how that goes

Re: How Fast

It averaged
171 fps with the 770gr arrow
181 fps with a 643gr arrow
214 fps with a 470grn arrow
and my 550grn woods came in at 184 fps

Dan

ps and yes it is very good to shoot, draws smooth. But i may be biased as i did build it myself

How Fast

Hey guys just a question, If you had a 76# recurve shooting a 770 grain arrow what sort of fps would you expect to get out of it. I guess what I want to know is at that poundage and arrow weight what is considered "fast" or "slow". I put my recurve through the crono the other day...

Re: How many people use a ghille/leaf suit when hunting ?

I don't know about how they look to an animal but i will say i won't ever wear a leafy suit again, it caught on every thing. It caught on the grass, the tree bark, sticks and the bow string on the arms and on the chest no matter how hard i tried to fix the clearance issues i would get another one. N...

Re: Finishes and fillers

I found an article some where that said you can grain fill with the poly finish you are going to use as a final coat by simply thinning by 25% and applying then rubbing back a couple of times until you are satisfied then applying top coat as normal at normal thickness. Does that sound like it would ...

Finishes and fillers

Hey guys I really would like to know what people are using as a finish on there bows and also what you are using as a grain filler for open pored woods like wenge. There seems to be an over abundance of products available in America but not so much over here. Rod has offered some advice in the form ...

Re: Split fingers to 3 Under

I find that I need to run thicker center serving or the arrows fall off when i draw and as Jeff said you will need to adjust you nocking point a bit. But best thing i ever did switching to three under i shoot a lot more consistently now.

I would be very interested in reading her response to your reply too. I have a feeling that she would just ignore you unfortunately as people with ideas that strong tend to ignore any alternative even if it is well thought out and backed with hard evidence.

Hot box bulbs

Hi everyone, I was just having a pm disscussion with rob about my Hot box I have built. I have come to the part where i am going to wire it up and I went to buy the bits and pieces to run 10 100 watt light bulbs but it seems I can't because you can't buy 100 watt clear incandescent bulbs anymore. So...
